The Bible does not directly mention the phrase, “Come as you are.” However, there are several verses in the Bible that speak about being accepted by God and the invitation for us all to his Kingdom regardless of our current spiritual, physical or mental state: “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV).

Acceptance and forgiveness by God refer to the idea that no matter what we have done or are currently doing, if we are open about it, repenting for our sins (or wrongdoings), and turning away from them in faith, then He will accept us back into his care and Kingdom.
Additionally, this acceptance that God has given us comes with His unconditional love, which completely absolves all sins committed by us, including those already confessed and repented.
This means that once we ask God to forgive us, he will not only do so but, through His Grace, also provide an opportunity for us to start over free from our past mistakes and sins. This will make us void of guilt or shame due to his everlasting mercy towards mankind.

Humility is a recognition that we, as humans, are flawed creatures in need of God’s mercy and Grace to help us overcome our shortcomings.
We must also acknowledge we have sinned against Him by breaking His laws; it is only through recognizing this truth can true change occur within us. This change requires us to practice humility before God.
Repentance is humbling ourselves before Jesus Christ: acknowledging our sins and their consequences while striving for the forgiveness available through God’s gift of salvation, just as the Bible says, “redemption from unrighteousness found solely in Christ alone” (Romans 6:23).
In order to gain entrance into God’s Kingdom, all believers must learn how to accept responsibility without pride or self-justification. We must understand the guilt sin brings so that atonement may be sought faithfully with prayer and making better choices under the guidance obtained through studying the word of God daily.

This kind of approach promotes the Christian values of integrity, humbleness, accountability for one’s actions and words, and consistency among beliefs expressed verbally as well as behaviorally.
When there is openness & honesty within ourselves, it allows us to learn more deeply from each other on a spiritual level while removing barriers that may hurt relationships between different denominations/teachings in our society today.

These lessons provide a conducive path toward developing stronger relationships within ourselves, our community/society at large, loved ones surrounding us, and last but certainly not least, God, our Ever faithful Maker Himself!
